Designed Specifically for Vocalists
At AVS, we specialize in voice training, focusing on helping singers. However, we faced an internal challenge. While we’re a vocal studio (not a piano studio), many singers who came to us expressed a desire to have enough piano skills to warm up or play chords on their own. But they didn’t want traditional piano lessons—they wanted to focus on what mattered most to them: learning how to play in a way that supports their singing.
So, we created “Piano for the Vocalist”. A largely FREE program (with optional paid extras), designed to help singers build the confidence and skills they need to perform at their best. Unlike other piano courses, this one was created by voice teachers who play piano, not piano teachers. The result is a program that’s as vocal-centric as ever, with the added bonus of some piano skills. Owner and Founder, Arabella Berman earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Spanish, with a minor in Music, from Northeastern University in 2020. She went on to complete a Vocal Styles Professional Certification at Berklee College of Music in 2021 and graduated with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology in 2025, further expanding her impact in voice and speech. Arabella has been teaching voice and piano for over six years.
Emet SW is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter from Vancouver, Canada. Emet came to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated in 2023. Emet is a lover of R&B, Soul, Neo-Soul, and Pop, but appreciates all types of genres. Because every voice is different, Emet’s teaching philosophy is rooted in providing a variety of options to make singing and playing easier for each individual.
